Every Orivo bar begins in the same place: the cooperative plantations of Ivory Coast, where the Forastero bean — fermented for six days, sun-dried for a week — carries within it the entire complexity of Ivorian soil.

Ivory Coast produces over 38% of the world's cacao. We work exclusively with 12 certified cooperatives, selecting only main-harvest Forastero and Trinitario beans — larger, more aromatic, exceptional.

Born in Ivory Coast, Yaya Sanogo grew up surrounded by cacao plantations. The smell of fermented beans, the weight of a ripe pod, the rhythm of the cooperatives — these were not discoveries for him, they were childhood. After studying in Abidjan and moving to Milan to master the art of luxury craftsmanship, Yaya understood what the world was missing: Ivory Coast produces over 38% of global cacao, yet no luxury brand had ever been born from its soil. In 2016, he founded Orivo — to change that forever.

04 — The Process
Only main-harvest pods, hand-selected from 12 cooperative partners in Ivory Coast.
Six days of natural fermentation in village cooperatives. This is where Ivory Coast aromas are born.
One week under the Ivorian sun. Moisture below 7.5% before export to our Milan atelier.
Minimum 72 hours of slow conching in our Milan laboratory. Patience is the only recipe.
Hand-tempered for the characteristic Orivo snap, gloss and melt. Every bar is a singular work.
